Legend has it that a demon slayer also roams the night, hunting down these bloodthirsty demons. For young Tanjirou, these rumors will soon to become his harsh reality...
Ever since the death of his father, Tanjirou has taken it upon himself to support his family. Although their lives may be hardened by tragedy, they've found happiness. But that ephemeral warmth is shattered one day when Tanjirou finds his family slaughtered and the lone survivor, his sister Nezuko, turned into a demon. To his surprise, however, Nezuko still shows signs of human emotion and thought...
Thus begins Tanjirou's quest to fight demons and turn his sister human again.
舞台是日本的大正時代，名叫竈門炭治郎的平凡農村少年，靠著賣炭來維持一家的生計。某天他下山去賣炭，回家時天色已暗，好心的三郎爺爺便留他住了一晚。隔天他回到家卻發現家人全都遭到殘殺，只剩禰豆子身體還有餘溫，然而她似乎變得跟平常不太一樣？為了尋求拯救妹妹的方法，炭治郎踏上了斬鬼的冒險旅程。

Sepemergian ayahnya, Tanjirou terpaksa menampung sara hidup keluarganya. Biarpun semakin susahnya kehidupan mereka akibat tragedi, mereka mengecapi kebahagiaan. Namun nikmat yang seketika itu berkecai suatu hari tatkala Tanjirou dapati keluarganya terbunuh dan sebagai satu-satunya orang berikhtiar untuk hidup, adik perempuannya Nezuko, menjadi seorang raksasa juga. Mengalami kejutan kepada dirinya, tetapi, Nezuko masih menunjukkan tanda emosi manusia dan pemikiran...
Maka bermula dugaan Tanjirou demi menentang raksasa dan adiknya ditukarkan kembali jadi manusia sekali lagi.
